The company performs at the Pavilion Theatre, Gorleston twice a year with shows usually in April and November. We engage a professional Musical Director to take charge of the singing and we usually perform to ‘live’ music. Seniors are invited to audition for both shows but the Juniors are usually only included in the April production. Please be aware that, while we encourage all members to have a go at auditions, it is not always possible to include everyone in a show. Workshops and rehearsals are held twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays at the Lowestoft Road Methodist Church Hall in Gorleston. The hall entrance is on Suffield Road, opposite the Police Station.
Fees are currently £4.50 per session with an annual insurance payment of £12.00.
The company has over 60 members divided into two age groups: Juniors - aged 6-11, Seniors - aged 11-18. Workshops are mostly drama based but we do include some singing and dancing.
Mondays Juniors: 6:20pm-7:25pm, Seniors: 7:25pm-9:00pm
Thursdays Seniors: 7:00pm-8:30pm
When we are in rehearsal for a production the Senior workshops are reduced to one per week and rehearsals take place on both evenings. On joining, members are given a schedule and regular attendance is expected. We ask that members wear black tracksuit bottoms or jazz pants, jazz shoes, ballet shoes or plimsolls and a Dusmagrik T-shirt (on sale when you book in). An optional hoody is also available to order.
Please note that all our leaders and helpers have been CRB checked and we have eight Norfolk Registered Chaperones.
